The Jewish Film Festival captures the diversity of Jewish life on film. For two weeks, filmmakers from all over the world present a varied program.
The event is intended to be a celebration of the life of Jewish film all over the world and especially in Germany. Several venues in Berlin and Brandenburg are taking part, including Filmkunst 66, Bundesplatz-Kino, Moviemento, Kino Krokodil, Filmmuseum Potsdam and Thalia Programmkino Babelsberg in Potsdam.
The Jewish Film Festival Berlin and Brandenburg (JFBB) will take place for the 31st time in 2025. From May 6 to 11, dozens of films from various countries will once again show the diversity of Jewish life, from thrillers and comedies to documentaries.
"Jewish life in color. We celebrate the spectrum of Jewish identities in cinema: different genres, young talents and diverse perspectives from the non-secret world. We discuss what Jewish visibility on the screen means," says Arkadij Khaet, member of the JFBB program collective, describing this year's film selection. "Our program is like a good massage. You have to press particularly hard where it hurts. Yalla, off to the movies, we're serving gefilte films for consumption."
