In 2025, the Unknown Pleasures festival will present a diverse selection of the best and most exciting independent films for the 15th time.

Independent films are said to be the heart of American cinema. They traditionally dare to tackle subjects that are (still) taboo for Hollywood and question and challenge the sometimes rigid mainstream mechanisms. The Unknown Pleasures festival presents a selection of the best and most exciting independent films. In the shadow of the Hollywood film industry, they stand for uncompromising and consistent cinema.

Unknown Pleasures #15

The 15th edition of Unknown Pleasures focuses on debut works by young filmmakers that deal with existential losses and profound changes. The films address themes such as grief, transience and hope and show creative ways of transforming pain and uncertainty.
